Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Agent
Duration: 12  Months Assignment
Location: Rosemead & Pomona locations (Hybrid with 1 day a week in the office and could increase to multiple days a week depending on work load)

Notes:
current team size is 2-3 and growing up to 5-7.
This is a learn as you go, sink or swim environment
Someone who is a self starter, go getter, self driven will be the most successful.

Someone with Procuring software, hardware or professional services is a plus
IT Project Implementation background is required; will be managing a portfolio of projects. Implementing NEXT GEN - moving to the the cloud

Description:
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and suppliers and gather client requirements and negotiate their support requirements.
  • Assist in negotiating to price, contract terms and conditions;
  • prepare contractual documents and binding agreements;
  • Integrate program, customer, product and in-service strategies into source selection, negotiation and contract strategies;
  • Assist in the development of procurement solutions to best support customer requirements consistent with program and company goals and objectives;
  • Support senior-level Procurement Agents with project management activities;
  • Develop and deploy supplier strategies and plans; Assist in creation of production control improvement plans and hardware development from engineering definition through certification, tooling development, first article development and buyoff;
  • Develop an understanding of supplier capacity and ensure ongoing production readiness and health and the ability to meet rate delivery requirements throughout the supply chain - includes monitoring and management of sub-tier supplier readiness and performance. Positions require frequent engagement with multiple organizational leaders.
Additional responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the improvement of existing processes and implementation of cost reduction initiatives;
  • Conduct root cause analysis;
  • Develop mitigation plans for risks and monitor to closure; Participate in supplier risk assessments;
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and cross-functional improvement teams;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers;
  • Employ project management tools to analyze and manage supplier performance, including technical, quality, cost and schedule.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Workload
  • Lead contracting, category management and procurement functions of the Indirect Procurement organization and special projects.
  • Own business unit relationships up to senior and executive levels within assigned business unit(s) and leads portfolio reviews with business unit leadership to collaboratively plan and execute effective strategic sourcing strategies.
  • Act as Lead Contract Manager for a team of 1-2 other team members.
  • Negotiate contractual terms and other related commercial items to ensure Edison receives the best value possible while mitigating potential risk factors.
  • Maintain consistent interaction with suppliers and ensures adherence to established contracts.
  • Integrate work across relevant areas, developing strategies to enhance productivity, manage information and provide exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assess work activities for consolidation opportunities.
  • Develop metrics to monitor area of responsibility, gaps and implementing action plans to remediate.
  • Execute Purchase Orders, Change Orders, and Request for Proposals across various categories.
  • Lead contract management and supplier dispute resolution.
  • Train and consult peers and other stakeholders on the Procurement process.
Required Skills/Attributes:
  • 5-7 years of experience in purchasing, contract management and/or negotiating contracts.
Desired Skills/Attributes:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience negotiating contracts for IT software, hardware, professional services, and end-user licensing agreements.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Experience with sourcing Technology related categories, managing cybersecurity in the supply chain, and with Agile Procurement and Project Management.
  • Ability to present recommendations and other communications regularly to all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with Ariba and SAP.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including oral presentations, formal correspondence and contractual documentation, group facilitation, and negotiations.
