Job Description

Location: Aibonito, PR

Description:
Perform calibrations, inspections, environmental test, critical systems monitoring, steam sterilization qualification studies support and provide technical support to critical systems area. Assure that complies with company procedures, policies and external standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform calibration to all Plant Critical Systems such as: Distilled Water, Compressed Air, Nitrogen, Environment etc.
  • Provides technical support at the critical systems area and assure the accomplishment of all external and internal policies and regulations.
  • Perform Environmental Non-Viable Particulate Matter Test and Compressed Air monitoring, Differential Pressure Test, Challenge Test to HEPA filters, filters, filter integrity Test, and provide technical support to other Departments if necessary.
  • Fill out, analyzes and understand all necessary documentation to comply with all specifications, SOP’s, protocols and instructions.
  • Perform inspections to all Plant Critical Systems such as: Distilled Water, Compressed Air, Nitrogen Environment etc.
  • Provide support to steam sterilization qualification studies.
  • Perform preventive maintenance work such as: calibrations, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Audits, create and make changes to SOP’s to be in compliance with company policies, standards
  • and specifications, as applicable.
  • Maintain Cristal System Area supplies and calibrations standards inventory.
  • Willing to work under minimum supervision.
  • Must keep the work area in the cleanest and order conditions, to comply with the 6s and lean concepts.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Instrumentation
  • 1+ years of experience in instrumentation and/or calibration duties.
  • Computer literate.
  • Willing to work in second or third shift and in weekends or holidays as requested by immediate supervisor
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, technical and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively in front of employees of organization and any internal or external auditor.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculation such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Observes and promotes company security, industrial hygiene, cGMP's, procedures and other security measures already established by the company; should inform any violation.

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds (with the appropriate safety equipment that Baxter provides). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.

Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Safety Equipment
  • The employee is required to use the appropriate equipment that Baxter requires to comply with all Safety and Security rules (in Regulated Areas), such as: Digital Manometers, Ellab wireless sensors, particles counters, telephone, office supply, computer, calculator, copy machine, fax machine, etc. While performing, this job the incumbent is regularly required to ware and use the appropriate safety equipment in the different Plant areas, such as: helmet, safety eye glasses with UV protection, safety gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, uniform, special safety suit, gloves, safety suit with UV protection, and any other safety equipment necessary in order to protect the health and safety of the incumbent.
