Job Description

Location: Jayuya, PR

Job Purpose
  • Performs repetitive line assembly operations to mass-produce medical devices products such as IV bags. Assure that all operations are in compliance with all Company standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Places parts in specified relationship to each other.Fastens parts together.
  • Works at different workstations as production needs require.
  • Works on line where tasks vary as different model of same article moves along line.
  • Inspect each part assuring that the product has zero defects.
  • Displeased the finish product in the appropriate box and stock them until the material handler comes.
  • Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
  • Removes samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to laboratory for analysis as requested.
  • Lifts heavy objects ( 5 lbs. through 25 lbs. approximately) by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area.
  • Occasionally work at other shifts when its required.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Must be able to keep the work area in the cleanest and order conditions.
  • Team worked oriented.
  • Other related duties with the position may be assigned. 
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Willing to work irregular hours, rotary shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to the immediate supervisor or group leader. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; eye-hand coordination; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 5 to 25 pounds (with the appropriate safety equipment that the Company provides).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • The incumbent must use the proper equipment in any Baxter area to comply with Company policies, and any internal or external regulation; or policy (eg. safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety gloves, uniform, etc.).
