Job Description

Job Title: Power BI Developer
Work Location: 333 S Wabash Chicago, IL 60602 - Wednesday - Friday (3 days onsite per week)
Duration: 5 months
Project Overview:
  • Replacing an existing Liquidity Limits Dashboard (LLD) from IBM’s Cognos/TM1 platform onto Microsoft’s Power BI platform.
  • Stand-up a self-service business intelligence reporting capability enabling business teams to create their own dashboards and make their own changes.
Qualifications (must haves):
  • Minimum of 10 years of IT experience
  • 5 years plus with Power BI (comprehensive experience on most of the features and capabilities within the Power BI application)
  • Effective communication skills, ability to interact with partners to define requirements and provide technical training
Nice to Have (preferred):
  • Power Apps, Power Automate
  • Snowflake
  • Train people how to effectively create and maintain their own solutions using Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate
Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Work with the business partners to define business requirements
  • Translate requirements into business Power BI design specifications (data model, formula calculations, design prototypes)
  • Provide consulting and guidance to other Power BI developers on solving design and development issues
  • Design and implement data model best practices within the Power BI solution
  • Design and develop BI visualizations in Power BI
  • Integrate various data sources using Power Query
  • Implement row level security - Knowledge of Power BI application security layer models
  • Ability to connect to Snowflake and create SQL statements to conduct analysis and validate data results
  • Ability to transform raw data (from Snowflake) into data visualizations and dashboards
  • Ability to integrate Power App into Power BI dashboards for business partner inputs
  • Ability to integrate Power Automate into Power BI dashboards for workflow automation
  • Create DAX functions and integrate M-code in Power Query
