Duration: 3 Months
Location: 34700 Valley Rd. Oconomowoc, WI 53066.
Day 1 will be at Milwaukee branch. Depending on where they live, they will train at an IOP. Then they will go to a worksite March 9th
Shift Hours: 2 shifts available,
The first is for 5:30a-2p and the second is 6:30a-3p with alternating weekends (Saturday & Sunday)
4:30a-9a
Vaccines required: Hep B (Candidate can decline Hep B), TB, color vision is required.
The primary function of the Phlebotomist II is to perform blood collection and specimen processing while assisting with troubleshooting, training, and workflow recommendations in a fast-paced laboratory setting.
Perform venipunctures using straight needles and butterfly needles
Collect blood and other specimens (urine, fecal, etc.) according to established procedures
Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens as required
Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately
Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy
Store specimens at appropriate temperatures to maintain integrity
Prepare specimens for transport following protocol requirements
Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures
Update patient information accurately
Clearly and courteously explain specimen collection procedures to patients
Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
Attend annual department trainings
Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as needed
Valid Phlebotomy Certification (if required by state)
Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a hospital or fast-paced laboratory setting
2–4 years of related experience preferred
High School Diploma or GED
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
