The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization for patients visiting the facility for routine care or important health-related decisions. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while adhering to established procedures and safety standards.
The PSR I interacts directly with patients, creating an environment of trust and professionalism by clearly explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner. The role requires a strong commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and process excellence.
Perform daily work activities accurately and on time under the direction of the Area Supervisor
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment
Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established procedures
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following standard protocols
Maintain accurate records and required documentation
Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public
Exhibit leadership behaviors while ensuring patient confidentiality and data accuracy
Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic training) preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred
Certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington
Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience (Required)
1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred
Keyboarding and data entry experience required
