Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Duration: 3+ Months (Contract)
Location: Austin, TX 78758 (12201 Renfert Way, Suite 305)

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
• Collect blood, urine, and other specimens following established procedures.
• Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens for transport.
• Verify physician orders and laboratory requisitions for accuracy.
• Maintain specimen integrity by following proper storage and transportation protocols.
• Update patient information and documentation.
• Perform equipment maintenance and decontamination.
• Answer phone calls and communicate laboratory results as appropriate.
• Follow OSHA and other safety regulations.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience in a hospital, laboratory, or high-volume patient service center.
• Experience performing confident, independent blood draws.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• State Phlebotomy Certification (where required).

Ideal Candidate

• Comfortable performing 20–40+ blood draws per day in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent patient interaction and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and specimen handling procedures.
• Reliable and able to work the full scheduled hours
