  • Legal experience – no law degree needed, worked at law firm previously preferred.
  • Product Level compliance experience (Financial Compliance usually not transferable for this role – wanting past experience in Regulatory, FDA or Product compliance).

 Job Description:
Work hard, have fun, and make history working with the North America RISC Legal team. We are looking for someone who can navigate complex product regulations and develop and implement related compliance actions. This position requires partnering with legal and business teams on proposed actions and coordinating across multiple teams using technology to implement processes and policies to effectuate those actions. There is a significant project management component to this role.
You must have strong prior work experience in a professional setting, a positive attitude, and strong organizational skills. The ability to effectively communicate is essential, both verbally and in writing. The role will require that you be self-motivated to learn the operations and will involve both independent and team work in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing.
 
This position is intended to provided leave coverage for an Associate Compliance Specialist who supports the Health and Personal Care pod within the Regulatory Intelligence Safety and Compliance (RISC) Legal team. Coverage areas may include cosmetics, tobacco, OTC products, dietary supplements, medical devices, or veterinary products.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • 1 YR or Less Experience in: Cosmetics / Drug Safety / Labeling
  • 1-2 YRS Experience in: Compliance / Legal Compliance / Regulatory Compliance / FDA / FDA 21 CFR
Interaction with team:
Both teamwork & individual.
Work with Partner teams outside of legal as well as legal counsel.
As a Compliance Specialist on the RISC Legal team, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and implementing product regulatory compliance controls that impact the products sold in client's online stores in the US and Canada. It's a high judgment position that requires nimbleness and insistence upon very high standards. You will engage with several internal and external stakeholders to drive initiatives to completion. Compliance Specialists are responsible for specific compliance categories that are either product-specific or regulation-specific (i.e., requirements that span multiple categories).
 
Primary responsibilities:
  • Monitoring product regulatory developments in the US and Canada
  • Partnering with regulators and responding to their inquiries about products sold in client's online store
  • Working with business and operational teams to implement compliance controls
  • Setting compliance strategies for long-term initiatives
  • Engaging with selling partners and helping them improve their product compliance
 Basic Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience handling confidential information
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

  • Response time / number of inquiries from operations team answered per week
