Job Description

Location: Aibonito, PR

Summary
  • Operate automatic and/or semi-automatic machinery in manufacturing processes and make adjustments and repairs as necessary to achieve optimal performance and productivity.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate automatic and/or semi-automatic manufacturing machinery, controlling its operation within the established operating parameters as per procedures, specifications, and safety and environmental regulations.
  • Observe the manufacturing process and the electromechanical control panels of the equipment, making adjustments to controls or repairs when necessary, and notifying of conditions that could affect its proper functioning.
  • Supply materials to assigned machines, inspect, package, and document material according to plant procedures, and coordinate and monitor the use of materials in the department.
  • Perform the setup of code changes following equipment manuals and product specifications and procedures.
  • Comply with operation standards such as production, scrap, downtime, and time for code changes established by the department.
  • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance work such as cleaning, greasing, and machinery lubrication, and perform preventive maintenance (PM) following the applicable SOP.
  • Responsible for maintaining and securing provided tools.
  • Consult and actively participate with Automation and Process Engineering personnel and/or the Quality Department in the analysis of the manufacturing process to identify areas for improvements, including attending meetings, participating in process improvement activities, and documenting information required by the project.
  • Document information required by specifications and procedures manually (e.g., Checker Chart) and/or electronically (e.g., POMS, MMS 3), including parameters, batches, productions, and others.
  • Maintain written information or production graphics, downtime, setup time, or any other indicator established by the machine for monitoring productivity or establishing trends.
  • Inspect and evaluate materials and products to detect or prevent possible defects before using the materials or removing the finished product.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and risk-free, and actively participate in initiatives such as SOL 5's (Safety, Order, and Cleanliness).
  • Report health and safety hazards, environmental aspects, incidents, risks, and opportunities in the EHS management system, and participate in the development, planning, implementation, performance evaluation, and actions for continuous improvement of the EHS Management System.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree, Vocational Course or its equivalent in studies of Mechanics, Electronics or technical area.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in mechanics.
  • Knowledge in Measurement (“Caliper, Micrometer, Ruler, etc.).
  • Ability to distinguish causes of malfunction due to defects in machinery or defective materials.
  • Identify deviations in the process parameters, stop the machinery if necessary, make the corrections or manage the necessary help for their corrections.
  • Availability to work non-standard shifts, 3rd shift, and overtime when required.
  • Good communication skills in English and Spanish.
Physical Demands: 
Exercises 20 lbs up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or 10 lbs. up to 25lbs. of force frequently, and/or an insignificant amount greater than 10 lbs. of force constantly to lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and moving objects. The demands of the physical requirements exceed the of Light Work.
