The OCMC Communications Specialist will support the communications work of the Office of the CIO and will be expected to produce high quality PowerPoint presentations, news and feature articles, and project-related messaging for executives and stakeholders at all levels. Video production skills are a major bonus.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the communications team and change managers in the development of:
PowerPoint presentations for executive review of programs and projects across IT
Content for IT-specific news channels on our intranet, including news and feature stories
Write communications plans and develop communications material for technical project deployments and issues management, including email messages, program updates, program newsletters, program support materials for posting in our plants and warehouses
Build surveys as requested and report results
Manage SharePoint sites, as assigned
Materials for Town Halls and other leadership meetings, as assigned
Demonstrated ability to write prompts for AI to assist in the above tasks
SKILLS
Excellent writing and storytelling, including the ability to interview technically minded people, then write plain-language stories
Experience developing and implementing strategic, integrated communications plans tied directly to business objectives
Ability to craft clear, concise communications for end users, using plain language
Strong collaboration skills, able to work with disparate target audiences
Team player and service mindset
Active listening skills and willingness to hear and incorporate feedback
Outcome-focused with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Creative problem solver, curious mind, and a self-starter
Must excel and thrive in fast-paced environments; global experience a plus; change management experience a plus
Meet project and assignment deadlines
Outstanding Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills; video editing is a plus
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • Undergraduate degree or equivalent • Five years directly related experience, preferably for a Fortune 500 company with diverse, global employee base
