Title Role: Mid-Senior ServiceNow Developer / Technical Consultant Contract Duration: 6 Months with strong possibility of Extension Location: Toronto, Ontario – Hybrid, 1–2 days onsite per week
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer / Technical Consultant (Contract) to support the ongoing development, enhancement, and implementation of our ServiceNow platform, with a primary focus on Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), and enterprise inventory management initiatives. This role will play a key part in advancing our ServiceNow-based asset and configuration management capabilities by designing, configuring, integrating, and optimizing solutions that improve the quality, accuracy, governance, and visibility of enterprise asset and configuration data. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Business Analysts, CMDB administrators, SN Developers and various business stakeholders to deliver scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions aligned with ServiceNow best practices and organizational standards. This is a hands-on technical consulting role requiring strong ServiceNow development expertise, deep understanding of CMDB and asset management processes, and experience implementing enterprise-scale inventory and discovery solutions.
Key Responsibilities CMDB & Inventory Management
Design, implement, and enhance CMDB capabilities, data models, and configuration item (CI) lifecycle processes.
Support CMDB health initiatives including completeness, correctness, compliance, and relationship integrity.
Develop and maintain CI class structures, identification and reconciliation rules, and governance controls.
Assist in establishing and improving configuration management processes and operational procedures.
Support asset and configuration data alignment across infrastructure, applications, services, and business systems.
Hardware & Software Asset Management
Configure and enhance ServiceNow HAM and SAM capabilities.
Support hardware asset lifecycle management, including procurement, deployment, inventory management, transfers, and disposal processes.
Configure software asset management workflows and support software compliance initiatives.
Assist with asset normalization, software discovery, entitlement management, and license reconciliation activities.
Collaborate with stakeholders to improve asset visibility, reporting, and governance.

Implement and support ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and related inventory data collection capabilities.
Develop integrations with external systems using REST APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Servers, and other supported technologies.
Support data imports, transformations, reconciliation, and synchronization processes.
Troubleshoot CMDB and asset data issues across multiple data sources.
Technical Leadership & Consulting
Translate business requirements into technical solutions and architecture recommendations.
Provide technical guidance and best practice recommendations to project teams and stakeholders.
Document configurations, design decisions, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
Support knowledge transfer activities and collaborate with internal platform teams.
Required Qualifications Experience
5+ years of ServiceNow development and implementation experience.
Proven experience with CMDB design, governance, and administration.
Hands-on experience implementing or supporting:
Hardware Asset Management (HAM)

Experience with ServiceNow integrations and automation capabilities.
