Job Title: Mechanical Engineer IV
Location: Onsite (Redmond, WA)
Duration: 4 Months

Job Description:
This is a broad scoped position providing manufacturing engineering ownership of multiple mechanisms and assemblies for the project Kuiper satellite program. You will be supporting new satellite mechanisms early in the manufacturing phase, providing critical design for manufacturability input and supporting testing of these assemblies, while developing and implementing the plan to move from design/test into higher rate build/production.
Job Responsibilities
  • Design, procure, and commission simple and complex mechanical fixtures and assemblies to support satellite sub-assembly functional and environmental testing
  • Design space hardware production processes and production lines
  • Experience with equipment design, procurement, installation, and qualification
  • Ability to support space hardware testing, including tooling design and data analysis
  • Assembly, Integration, and Test takt time & cost optimization planning
  • DFM review and sign off for design release
 
Required skills
  • BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of MCAD software 3D modeling and 2D drafting
  • Experience designing mechanical assemblies
  • Experience with rapid prototype tooling
  • Experience with production tooling
  • Experience in project management
  • Strong communication and writing skills
 
Preferred skills
  • Sieman Teamcenter for PLM
  • NX for 3D modeling and 2D drafting
  • Mechanical tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Design for Manufacturability experience, specifically in Aerospace
  • Use of engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools
  • Knowledge and ability to implement Lean and Six Sigma tools when appropriate
