If you are passionate about building the future and want to take part in developing ideas from concept to production, consider joining the SPICE lab teamThe Role: As a Failure Analysis Lab Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting technical lab work which supports prototype failure analysis and materials development investigations. You will develop and execute SOPs focused on producing worldclass analysis outcomes in the areas of sample preparation and physicalchemical characterization. You will provide technical support for materials and failure analysis investigations with the goal of driving design and manufacturing improvements. To enable this, you will become an expert in the following: Optical inspection and measurementsElectrical fault isolationMechanical cross sectioning and associated sample preparation 2D and computed tomography CT Xray inspection methods Materials testing execution mechanical and thermalmechanical testingLab equipment maintenance This position is onsite and may include up to 10 international and domestic travel. Export Control RequirementDue to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident i.e., current Green Card holder, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumBasic qualifications 3 years related work experience with Associate of Science degree in laboratory technology, electrical engineering technology or related field Experience with fault isolation of electronicsExperience in performing bulk materials or electronics cross sectionsExcellent writtencommunication skillsExperience with lab safety bestpractices Experience in writing SOP documents and lab reportsWillingness to independently troubleshoot and maintain scientific equipment, engaging equipment manufacturers when necessary for supportPreferred qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in materials science, electrical engineering or related fieldExperience with failure analysis methodology to derive a rootcause diagnosis of failureExperience with materials and failure analysis techniques. Examples include SEMEDX, mechanical test, dye and pry, hardness testing, and 3D surface profilingExperience with Xray inspection and measurement software VGSTUDIO or similar
