Client’s Robotics is located in the greater Boston area, the epicenter of robotics innovation. Current advancements are underway in autonomous movement and mobility, artificial intelligence and machine learning, manipulation, simulation, robotic management software, predictive analytics, and much more.
 
The Robotics Manufacturing & Technical Operations (RMTO) team is seeking a Production Control Specialist to develop and manage a comprehensive production control process to support high volume manufacturing and emerging products and technology. The Production Control Specialist will be responsible for managing the flow of materials, ensuring on-time production, and coordinating with various departments to achieve operational efficiency and meet customer demands. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of material management processes.

Responsible for:
  • Engineers all end-to-end Material Flows from supplier receipt to lineside delivery in order to efficiently meet production requirements
  • Developing a Plan for Every Part (PFEP) to document part numbers, quantities, suppliers, storage locations, part attributes, and replenishment plan
  • Establish visual management process for the shop floor to align with the PFEP
  • Update customer production spreadsheets to clearly communicate the status of each job/work order and its can-build/ factory clear-to-build status
  • Communicate internally any known or potential issues that could affect production or shipments, confer with supervisors, planners, TPMs, procurement and/or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed plan of action and meet schedule commitments.
  • Coordinate the schedule, plan, and initial staging of material/kits to all vital areas of production and test.
  • Develop and standardize area supermarket replenishment plans to prevent overstocking and shortages
  • Control the proper access and consumption of material in manufacturing – custodian of the cash
  • Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy by performing cycle counts
  • Material consumption tracking for material closing and inventory accuracy (weekly, Monthly)
  • Maintain alignment and inventory accuracy between 3PL WMS system and Client’s MRP system via EDI/API or manual transactions
  • Track material/part history to ensure integrity of MRP system
  • Monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with Production to ensure work completes on time to schedule.
  • Creating standard operating procedures on defined work paths for material handlers
  • Acts as primary contact for matters regarding schedule execution status and can build status based on available inventory
 
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of domain experience in the areas of manufacturing, supply chain operations, or materials management
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently on various assignments at once
  • Knowledge of material resource planning (MRP) and manufacturing execution systems (MES) specifically Oracle and Proplanner
  • Strong communication skills both within the team and with external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as high attention-to-detail
  • Database skills with SQL, queries, etc.
 
Role interesting:
  • Building next generation of robotic manufacturing for their fulfillment network and with the scope of these NPI products they are hoping to become the largest producer of industrial robotics in the world w/ the scope and volume they are trying to ramp these programs to.
  • Yrs Exp: 3+ years of domain experience in the areas of manufacturing, supply chain operations, or materials management (Production Control, Production planning, Material Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor (has material understanding as a manufacturing supervisor)

  • + APICS cert would be great
  • Strong MRP planning would be great
 
Must Haves:
  • Manufacturing background
  • Understanding of a figuration management
  • End to end supply knowledge for replenishment planning
