Job Description

Job Title: Marketing Specialist IV
Location: 100% Remote (WFH)
Duration: 6 months
Shift: 9AM-5PM (some morning calls start at 8:30AM), M-F
Time zone: Somewhat flexible, but expected to work during regular EST operations
 
Summary:
The Lead level Marketing Specialist independently leads and manages the creative development of clients’ highest impact marketing efforts and ensures alignment with the company's branding strategies. Manages internal and external agency partners on the most complex marketing campaigns. Manages the process from development of the creative brief through concept presentation, internal approval and final material delivery. May have direct management and/or mentoring responsibility for lower-level Marketing Specialists.
 
Day to day responsibilities:

  • Leading development of creative content: digital and social media, print, radio
  • Project Managing surrounding activity of that work, Including, guiding the creative teams for the creation of the work
  • Provide follow ups and notes to all parties involved, manage the milestones to meet deadlines
  • Facilitates creative initiatives by proactively identifying new ideas and innovative solutions that enhance the brand value.
  • Responsible for creative accuracy, proper layout, etc. and providing feedback to ensure successful results.

What are the skills for this candidate to be successful?
Top must-have skills / Candidate Requirements:
  • MS Office: Teams, Excel- Intermediate, Keynote on MAC
Soft skill - we need someone who can:
  • Demonstrate ability to lead and manage the creative development process
  • Understands elements of market branding and how to effectively deploy them
  • PM experience at it's core coupled with a firm grasp of what works and what doesn't work in the creative arena
  • Willingness to work toward solutions
  • Enjoys collaborating with other as they will be collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; able to present ideas/perspectives in visual and convincing way
  • Organized
  • Excellent time management skills
 
Will his contractor need to provide a strategy for the project?
No. There is a Strategy Team who provides that piece. They let the creative team know during a project brief about the target audience, the message that needs to be relayed, the goals, the budget, etc.
 
What will separate an average candidate vs a great candidate on a resume?
  • Someone who has experience working with marketing teams and cross function teams
  • Someone who has experience working with Keynote on MAC
  • Someone who has worked in an advertising agency or marketing firm and lead media campaigns
 
Degrees or certifications required/Years of overall experience required:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years related work experience in a marketing role
  • In lieu of a degree, must have 10 years of related work experience in a marketing role
 
Is there a preferred industry, in which the contractor has worked in:
  • Having a candidate who worked in financial services or regulated industries like insurance, would be beneficial as they understand the limitation of what you can say in marketing pieces and they understand the legal review that has to happen before anything is finalized.
  • Worked in an advertising agency; worked and guided the creation of work.
  • Having worked in an advertising agency or marketing firm would be great, as well
 
Who is this worker's main interaction going to be with?
  • Two managers: Jeanine and Jennifer who, depending on the work, they could be working with both.
 
Will the contractor be working independently, or will they be collaborating with team members and/or a manager to complete tasks?
  • Independent work, but will always be collaborating with others
 
How will performance be measured:
  • Level of engagement of the work, proactivity, and ability to meet expectations and deadlines
 
Interview Process:
  • 1 round of video interview - A portfolio is optional NOT required, but if a candidate wants to show types of work that they managed, that would be fine.

* System, process, and BC program analysis including:
  • Independently leads and manages the creative development of marketing materials, ensuring all timelines for deliverables are met.
  • Identifies optimal creatives resources and processes to execute efficiently.
  • Collaborates with business partners to design, execute and oversee marketing needs that lead to actionable business results.
  • Leads the creative brief development process; recommends creative concepts, design and copy. Provides input, recommendations and develops implementation strategy prior to presenting to manager.
  • Actively participates in the development of the marketing strategy; collaborates on the development of strategic planning and media insights.
  • Facilitates creative initiatives by proactively identifying new ideas and innovative solutions that enhance the brand value.
  • Responsible for creative accuracy, proper layout, etc. and providing applicable feedback to ensure successful results.
  • Manages legal approval process and ensures all creative adheres to legal requirements.
  • Mentors other team members.
  • Shares relevant research learnings with creative resources.
  • Frequent scheduled travel to within the US, sometimes on short notice.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage the creative development process
  • Understands all elements of brand marketing and how to effectively deploy them
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to apply qualitative and quantitative consumer research learnings in the creative development process; monitors results and takes action as needed
  • Demonstrates credibility by building strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; able to present ideas/perspectives in visual and convincing way
  • Demonstrates ability to manage large variety and complex marketing projects end-to-end
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a high-volume work environment where guidelines and deadlines often change.
  • Decisive and effective problem-solver
  • Knowledge of media planning and placement, including the ability to align creative with the appropriate media approach
  • Experience with digital display advertising, social media, web development, and search engine marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clear feedback to agency partners

  • Typical office environment requiring the use of typical office equipment (e.g., computers, phones, etc.) Computer keyboarding, computer monitor and mouse use including reaching forward, grasping, finger and wrist manipulation, and neck bending and turning; near vision is necessary for computer monitor use. If working in an Emerging Workspace, or similar working arrangement, lifting of laptop equipment, files and/or personal belongings weighing 10 lbs or less is required.
