Job Overview The Manager, Regulatory will lead a team responsible for developing and evaluating internal programs that ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. This role involves managing team performance, overseeing projects, evaluating new regulatory standards, and supporting strategic decision-making related to grid technologies and investments. The position will focus heavily on economic analysis, financial modeling, and cost-benefit analysis to assess the impact of new grid architecture designs and technology deployments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage team members by providing leadership, coaching, performance management, and career development.
Set processes, organize resources, and provide direction to achieve departmental goals.
Evaluate new or proposed regulatory standards and assess their impact on the organization.
Develop and implement new processes to ensure regulatory compliance.
Manage external contracts and services related to regulatory initiatives.
Lead projects that may have significant impact on company operations and strategy.
Conduct cost-benefit and economic analysis for new and existing grid technologies.
Develop business cases and financial models to support technology investment decisions.
Evaluate the financial impact of grid architecture designs and technology deployments.
Identify benefits, calculate avoided costs, and assess capital and O&M efficiencies.
Align business cases with regulatory requirements to ensure support and cost recovery.
Develop recommendations, reports, and presentation materials for leadership decision-making.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of utility finance, economic principles, and financial modeling techniques.
Proven ability to lead complex projects and economic analysis initiatives.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
Strong knowledge of utility operations, grid planning, and grid modernization technologies.
Programming or analytical experience using Excel, Python, or other business applications.
Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following fields:
Electrical Engineering
Economics
Business Administration
Related technical or business discipline
Experience
7+ years of experience in:
Financial modeling
Forecasting
Economic analysis
Grid architecture or grid technology deployment
Utility or energy sector related work
