Job Description

Max Pay Rate $23.00Shift: [!--StartFragment--]Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - Production completion Interviews: In person requiredPosition SummaryThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, machinery, and related facility systems to ensure maximum production efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety. This position performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and facility upkeep while adhering to company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and safety regulations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesImplement and maintain preventive maintenance programs on all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturer recommendations.Visually inspect, test, and evaluate machinery and equipment to identify malfunctions and potential issues.Communicate equipment concerns and repair needs to operations staff and management as necessary.Consistently follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements and other established safety protocols.Diagnose equipment failures, dismantle defective machinery, and repair or replace components according to blueprints, manuals, and schematics.Install, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Perform building maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs, lighting maintenance, lamp and ballast replacement, and minor remodeling projects.Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic equipment and production machinery.Maintain compliance with all GMP, food safety, quality, and workplace safety requirements.Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.Remain on duty until properly relieved by a supervisor or manager, which may require working beyond scheduled hours.Support production goals by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests.Perform other duties and projects as assigned.QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.ExperienceOne (1) to three (3) years of maintenance, industrial, manufacturing, or related experience preferred.Required Skills and CompetenciesAbility to perform mathematical calculations, measurements, and conversions.Strong troubleshooting skills involving electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.Knowledge of PLCs, servo controls, and industrial automation systems.Proficiency in using electrical testing and measuring instruments, including meters and diagnostic tools.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, and specification sheets.Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.Working knowledge of algebra and trigonometry as applied to maintenance and equipment repair.Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively to changing production needs.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Team-oriented with the ability to interact effectively with coworkers across departments.Customer-service and results-oriented mindset.Commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement.Flexible and dependable, with a willingness to work extended hours when needed.Ability to work effectively in cold-temperature environments.Physical DemandsAbility to work for extended periods in refrigerated areas at approximately 30F and freezer areas at approximately -18F.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and climb throughout the workday.Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds.Ability to use hands, fingers, and limbs to operate tools, machinery, and material-handling equipment.Ability to read specifications, work instructions, and equipment documentation.Ability to move throughout production and warehouse areas safely and independently.Working ConditionsRegular exposure to refrigerated and freezer environments.Frequent exposure to wet conditions, moving machinery, and sharp objects.Work is performed in a high-noise manufacturing environment.May be required to work overtime, weekends, or varying shifts based on operational needs.Compliance with all safety, sanitation, GMP, and food safety procedures is required.Additional RequirementsMust successfully pass a company drug screening and background check.All employees are responsible for reporting food safety, quality, and regulatory concerns to Quality Assurance (QA) or a supervisor immediately so corrective action can be taken.Must comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
