Job title : Carpenter / Painter (Contract Position)
Location: Kauai, Hawaii
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Employment Type: Contract w/Full Time Hours Position support
 
Position Summary
  • Seeking a skilled Carpenter/Painter to support facility maintenance, construction, and improvement projects at Corteva Agriscience locations on Kauai. This hands-on position is ideal for an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys a predictable schedule, and values work-life balance.
  • The Carpenter/Painter will perform a wide variety of carpentry, painting, and general maintenance tasks to maintain office, laboratory, warehouse, and agricultural facilities.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Perform carpentry repairs and construction projects, including framing, drywall, doors, windows, cabinetry, trim work, fencing, and general building maintenance.
  • Prepare surfaces and apply paint, stain, sealants, and coatings to interior and exterior structures.
  • Repair and replace damaged building components and finishes.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on facilities and structures.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other trade-related equipment safely.
  • Assist with remodeling, renovation, and capital improvement projects.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, operations, and project teams to complete work efficiently and safely.
  • Follow company safety policies and applicable building standards.
 
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in carpentry, painting, building maintenance, construction, or a related trade.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
 
Preferred
  • Trade school certification, apprenticeship completion, or vocational training in carpentry, painting, or construction trades.
  • Experience with commercial, industrial, agricultural, or institutional facilities.
  • Experience with drywall finishing, cabinet installation, flooring, roofing, and general building repairs.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and safe work practices.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work on elevated surfaces, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and stand for extended periods.
