LPN Pediatrics Lake Grove

WCS Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and organized Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a pediatric practice in Lake Grove, NY, affiliated with a leading hospital in the area. The LPN will provide direct patient care to infants, children, and adolescents under the supervision of the practice's clinical team.

 

Position Overview

• Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Location: Lake Grove, NY — Suffolk County
• Practice Type: Pediatric office affiliated with a top regional hospital
• Reports To: Practice Manager / Supervising Clinical Staff
• Employment Type: Full-time (Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm)

 

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-appropriate patient care to pediatric patients under the supervision of the practice.
• Measure and document vital signs, chief complaints, medical history, and other relevant clinical information.
• Administer medications and immunizations in accordance with provider orders, practice protocols, and New York State regulations.
• Perform screenings for annual, preventive, and follow-up care needs.
• Collect, label, and process specimens; assist with diagnostic testing and referrals when needed.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records in the electronic health record system.
• Perform front-office and clerical duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting patients, and coordinating communication with other departments.
• Educate patients and caregivers on visit preparation, medications, follow-up instructions, and general care guidance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment; follow infection-control and safety protocols.

 

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and registration in New York State; NYSED requires LPNs to be licensed and registered to practice in New York.
• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an approved practical nursing program; current NYSED registration is required to practice.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, parents, and caregivers.
• Emotional resilience, dedication, attention to detail, and self-motivation.
• Comfort with electronic medical records, phones, scheduling, and general office technology.

 

Preferred Experience

• Prior pediatric, family medicine, or outpatient clinical experience.
• Familiarity with pediatric growth, development, immunizations, and caregiver communication.
