With guidance from supervisor, assists technical personnel in general laboratory and greenhouse operations in handling tasks in support of scientific research. Perform tasks according to accepted methods and training prescribed by the work group.
Job Responsibilities: 1. Assist in the execution of plant sample tissue collection in the field and greenhouse. Prepare and process tissue samples (Lyophilize tissue, weighing of lyophilized tissues, cleaning of equipment, lab organization, inventory etc). Supports submission of tissue samples for analysis. 2. Assist in maintaining database for tissue sample tracking. Assist in communicating with research personnel, expression laboratories, and field teams. 3. Work with Greenhouse lead and assist weekly greenhouse activities (Tissue sampling and submission, cleaning, plant movement and organization). Supports assay lead in insect assay/ experiments and data collection. Assist lead in conducting laboratory and greenhouse assay experiments, assay development and assay optimization. 4. Provide support in weekly assays/experiments perform in laboratory. Coordinate with team leads in weekly planning and execution of assays and laboratory works (cleaning, maintenance, etc).
