Job Description

Role: Junior Project/Program Manager - Workday Financials
Duration: 7 + Months
Location: Complete Remote
 
Day for this contractor will look like:
  • Scheduling, attending, facilitating meetings to coordinate hundreds of integrations/applications mock cutover and production deployment planning. Identify escalation paths.
Top skills or types of candidates :
  • Workday finance implementation is preferred
  • Or experience with a large scale implementation at Saas company would be top tier
  • Saas, workday finance infrastructure
 Required Experience:
  • 2+ plus years of project management or related experience with an emphasis in Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in planning and implementation of cross-functional business efforts.
  • Effective in influencing, making high-quality decisions, and taking decisive action.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and juggle multiple priorities. Strong meeting management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills. Ability to analyze poorly defined areas and processes within a cross-functional organization and implement new and improved processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including sound judgment about, when, how, what, and to whom to communicate. Inform, educate, and inspire employees.
  • Ability to quickly establish and build close working relationships with team members of varying backgrounds and positions within an organization.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and motivated to solve complex problems.
  • Solution-oriented, collaborative & curious mindset.
  • Experience managing and executing large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem-solving, and communicating recommendations
 Minimum Requirement and Experience:
  • 3 - 6 years of project management or related experience.
  • Bachelors of Science in CS, MIS, related technical degree or equivalent work experience with minimum of 2 years of technical work experience.
  • Program Execution & Governance: Independently manage project execution as per the PMO playbook with no / minimal guidance.
  • Identifies and communicates opportunities to improve efficiency or effectiveness of work group processes and practices.
  • Proficiency in communication, budget and issue/risk management across all stakeholders impacted by the scope of the project Program Leadership / Influence.
  • Respected & trusted by all key stakeholders on both IT and Business.
  • Has relationships and leverages other experts across the organization, with vendors, and peers at other companies.
  • Has broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
  • May be looked to as a lead displaying advanced knowledge in specialized area(s).
  • Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Contacts pertain to significant matters often involving coordination among groups.
  • Will work with Technical Program Managers, 30 workstreams
 Must Have Skills:
  • Large scale technical deployments
  • Program/Project Management Experience
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to quickly ramp on collaboration technologies (Google, SmartSheet, Quip, Slack)
 Teachable Skills: Slack, Smartsheets
 
Optional skills:
  • Workday Project Management Certification
  • Salesforce.com organization and product knowledge is a plus
  • PMP and/or Agile certification
