Top skills required: 1. Java – Backend development using Java/Spring for building scalable, high-performance enterprise applications and APIs. 2. Scala – Functional and concurrent programming, typically for data-intensive, distributed, or high-throughput backend systems (often with Akka/Play). 3. Angular – Frontend development skills (TypeScript, RxJS) to build and integrate responsive UI components with the backend services
Job description/responsibilities: Backend Development (Java & Scala) • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and REST/gRPC APIs using Java (Spring Boot/Spring Framework) and Scala (Akka/Play Framework, if used for concurrent or data-intensive systems) • Write clean, testable, well-documented code following SOLID principles and design patterns • Optimize application performance, including JVM tuning, memory management, and query optimization • Work with functional programming paradigms in Scala for concurrent, distributed, or data pipeline components • Integrate with databases (SQL/NoSQL), messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and caching layers (Redis)
Frontend Development (Angular) • Develop and maintain responsive UI components/modules using Angular (TypeScript, RxJS, NgRx or similar state management) • Ensure seamless integration between Angular frontend and Java/Scala backend APIs • Collaborate on UX/UI decisions and enforce frontend coding standards and component reusability
Architecture & Design • Participate in system design and architecture discussions; contribute to microservices design, event-driven architecture, and API contracts • Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and libraries across the stack • Ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of solutions end-to-end (frontend to backend)
Code Quality & Testing • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (JUnit, ScalaTest, Jasmine/Karma or Jest for Angular) • Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices across Java, Scala, and Angular codebases • Drive CI/CD pipeline improvements and support DevOps practices (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins/GitLab CI)
Leadership & Collaboration • Mentor junior/mid-level developers across both backend and frontend disciplines • Collaborate with product managers, QA, and architects to translate requirements into technical solutions • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to estimation and planning • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including performance bottlenecks and cross-stack bugs
Documentation & Standards • Document technical designs, APIs, and architectural decisions • Uphold coding standards, security practices, and compliance requirements across the tech stack
