Title:IT Security Technical Writer (Portfolio is a must needed)
Duration: 4 Months

Location: 100% Remote

Schedule: North American time zones: – Anyone between EST to PST.

Summary 
  • Looking for 2 technical writers (5 Years of experience)
  • For the Security organization

Day to Day

  • Help document what services the org should provide
  • Content writing on Architecture and Design, etc
  • Working with the IT and Org team on their processes
  • Customer-facing documentation (for Internal employees)
  • Writing content about the services provided.

Top 3 Skills –

  • Ability to write and translate an organized document.
  • Subject Matter experts
  • Ability to manage their own time on how to approach and deliver (Collaboration)

Software’s/Tools –

  • Will pass along a list of what the team uses. (This candidate would be required to write about the use of these tools)

Industry –

  • Opened to B2B candidates
  • Tech companies or information security

Questions -

How involved will the Technical Writer be in the testing processes, and what specific tasks will they be responsible for? Each time within IT and security for their internal and services to our at large. Not too involved in testing may be user acceptance testing.

Any specific IT background needed?

  • Ranges from the installation of software to network config
  • So, no specialization but more general IT experience.

Interview process –

  • 1 interview with the HM  - Examples of their work – Instruction, manual space or documentation around installation guides, software applications, customer intake portals, the content of architecture, and design.

Technical Writer for the Security organization

Requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience with technical documentation including architecture diagrams, process flows, building presentations, technical writings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with process engineers or similar to document the new procedures as they are designed and implemented
  • Self starter and detail oriented with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong writing, editing and communication skills.
  • Superior attention to details.
  • Aptitude for quickly building an understanding of complex technical concepts and ability to translate concepts to documentation
  • Development of use cases/test cases, participation in SIT/UAT testing
  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.
  • Plan, research, and draft user documentation that makes using complex products effortless for end-users and administrators.
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience that sets our users up for success.
  • Enhance accepted technical writing methodologies, procedures, and quality objectives.
