Role: IT Project Manager III Location: Rosemead, CA (Hybrid – Onsite Tuesday & Wednesday) Duration: 18 Months
Job Summary The AMI 2.0 IT Project Manager will lead the Technology Integration (TI) workstream for a large utility technology program. This role focuses on end-to-end project delivery, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, risk management, and coordination across technical and business teams. The ideal candidate should have strong IT project management experience, financial analysis skills, and experience supporting large enterprise or utility technology programs. Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end delivery of AMI 2.0 Technology Integration projects.
Prepare and manage financial estimates, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, resource plans, and work breakdown structures.
Coordinate activities across technical and business teams to ensure project milestones are met.
Track project scope, manage change control processes, and assess impacts of scope changes.
Maintain documentation for audits, compliance, and financial tracking.
Identify project risks/issues and recommend corrective actions.
Support procurement activities, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
Communicate project updates and technical information to stakeholders and leadership teams.
Required Skills
Strong IT infrastructure and enterprise project management knowledge.
Experience managing large multi-year enterprise IT initiatives.
Strong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting experience.
Advanced Excel and analytical/reporting skills.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in fast-paced enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of both business and technical processes.
Hands-on project management experience, including execution and coordination.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
3+ years of project management experience with financial planning and analysis responsibilities.
Experience managing budgets, forecasts, estimates, and financial reports.
Experience supporting large-scale utility or technology programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure), Smart Grid, or Utility Technology projects.
Experience with systems such as MDMS, OMS, SAP, ADMS, or Head-End Systems.
PMP or CAPM certification.
Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance in utility or IT environments.
Experience in vendor management and IT contract negotiations.
