Job Title: IT Project Manager – Hardware Deployment Location: Hybrid – Toronto, ON (2 days onsite, 3 days remote) Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of Extension)
Overview: We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead a large-scale hardware refresh initiative across approximately 1300 branch locations nationwide. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the workstation refresh project, ensuring seamless coordination between infrastructure teams, branch partners, and third-party vendors. The ideal candidate has significant experience managing large, complex infrastructure or deployment projects, particularly in retail or multi-location environments such as banking or enterprise organizations. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end delivery of a nationwide branch workstation hardware refresh program.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan, aligning infrastructure teams, retail partners, and implementation vendors.
Coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth deployment across all locations.
Manage project logistics including:
Hardware shipping and warehouse coordination
Branch installation scheduling
Decommissioning and return of legacy equipment
Ensure all deployments follow branch access protocols and security requirements.
Monitor and track project milestones, risks, dependencies, and timelines to ensure completion within the target timeframe.
Provide regular project updates to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
Identify and resolve issues proactively and escalate when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience managing large and complex IT projects.
Experience managing large-scale deployments across multiple locations (retail branches or similar environments).
Strong ability to build project plans and independently drive project execution.
Experience working in a traditional project delivery environment (non-Agile).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to coordinate multiple teams and external vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in banking or large financial institutions.
Experience managing hardware refresh, infrastructure rollouts, or enterprise deployments.
PMP certification or equivalent project management certification.
Post-secondary education in a relevant field.
Soft Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
Experience presenting updates to senior leaders or executive stakeholders.
Calm, solution-oriented approach to problem solving and delivery management.
Team & Work Environment:
Work alongside a team of approximately 15 members and multiple stakeholders.
Daily collaboration with internal infrastructure teams, branch partners, and external vendors.
Approximately 2+ hours of meetings per day.
