Job Description

Title: IT Business Analyst
Duration: 12 months (potential conversion)
Location: Phoenix, Arizona, USA, 85001 (Remote)

Job Purpose:
  • Develops business solutions by analyzing requirements, designing computer programs and/or recommending system controls and protocols.
  • Creates, assesses and maintains documentation for end users and/or vendors.
Essential Job Results:
  • Provides direct support to hotels using a Property Management System with a newer Two Way Interface on issues escalated beyond a first level help desk.
  • Uses Problem Solving skills to determine root cause and solutions to assist hotels.
  • Supports Third Party Vendors who provide Property Management Software to hotels Conducts and documents conference calls with hotels as well as Third Party Vendors Participates in on call rotation.
  • Enhances systems, processes, and policies by evaluating current design and recommending modifications. Identifies problems and revises procedures.
  • Identifies and documents project requirements. Analyzes complex system and business processes and recommends innovative solutions.
  • Prepares technical reports to summarize results and/or trends.
  • Supports end users by writing and maintaining documentation, providing consultative support and training as needed. Creates and maintains documentation, materials and tools for vendors.
  • Assists in user training and support.
  • May act as project manager for small projects as assigned.
  • Protects the Company by handling business sensitive information with appropriate confidentiality.
Experience:
  • 3+ years experience in hotel operations or management, including experience using a Property Management System.
  • Experience in a support role using Problem solving skills for business/functional analysis.
  • Experience using Oracle Opera or Opera Cloud preferred.
Skills:
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic project management skills including the ability to direct control and manage projects through completion preferred.
  • Proven analytical, time management and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Accountability: Receives operational guidance on duties, service standards and roles.
  • Leadership: Exhibits personal characteristics and professional standards that serve as a role model for others.
  • Knowledge: Familiar with relevant policies, procedures and technical parameters specific to the job. Has basic functional and technical know-how to succeed in job. Learns new functional and technical skills readily.
  • Relationship Management: Conveys and obtains information both internal and external to the department. Uses written verbal or electronic skills effectively.
  • Problem Solving: Plans and scopes length and difficulty of task. Identifies critical problems and directs effort accordingly. Resolves defined problems and separates and combines tasks for efficient workflow. Analyses situations to render profitable, efficacious recommendations.
Education:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
