Job Description

Title: Data Analyst
Location: Local to Chicago, IL 60604 and has to be onsite 3 days per week
Duration: 6 months with a strong possibility of extension or a year-long contract (depending on approval).

Description:

This position requires extensive and practical experience with Data Analysis and Decision Science. The Data Analyst will be responsible for using their knowledge of data processing software and business development strategies to provide sound business decisions. Their duties include collaborating with other data professionals to extract data figures, creating reports based on their findings, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to determine business initiatives’ success.


Responsibilities/Day to Day:

- Work with leaders to identify opportunities for improvement

- Create reports for internal teams

- Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data

- Use graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data

- Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business decisions

- Structure large data sets to find usable information

- Work with a team of analysts and other associates to process information

- Create presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings

- Builds analytical data sets, including development of programs for the extraction and transformation of data across multiple platforms, including mainframe

- Assists with documentation – takes down technical specifications and documents them in detail


Must Haves:

- Minimum of 6 years of IT experience with at least 2 of those years focused on Data Analysis

- Familiarity with tools such as PowerBI and SQL clients

- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required

- Must be highly flexible and adaptable to change

- Strong documentation skills – able to take down technical specs and notate them in thorough detail

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Educational/Experience Qualifications:

A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required.
