Job Description

Job Title: Graphic Designer
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Deerfield, IL (60015)

Note -- Must be able to work onsite. This will be a hybrid once they are trained, 2 days a week in the office. For training, they will need to be in the office.
Overview:
The Graphic Designer/Control Specialist role is a hybrid position that will initially require onsite work for training purposes, with the flexibility to work two days a week in the office once training is complete. This role is essential in creating Cleint’s labels and performing proofreading and verification tasks on product labeling to ensure input documents match output documents. The incumbent will collaborate with the team to resolve discrepancies, manage data and document entries, and support the development and implementation of product labeling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute concepts, layouts, and illustrations, publishing artwork as required.
  • Ensure labeling is created or revised according to specified requirements.
  • Perform typesetting of packaging components, including text, graphics, chemical structures, and bar codes, adhering to guidelines and standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to finalize artwork and submit it for agency approval.
  • Maintain clear traceability across multiple revisions.
  • Utilize Adobe software, including Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, proficiently.
  • Proofread product labeling to ensure conformance to inputs using manual techniques and electronic comparator software such as Global Vision.
  • Verify that labeling artwork meets specification requirements, including dimensions, tolerances, bar code type, placement, and readability.
  • Perform product data and document management entry, configuration, and processing in the electronic document management system.
  • Meet project timelines and commitments related to labeling.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in design control and document proofreading in accordance with ISO standards.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Skilled in using electronic comparator software and manual proofreading techniques.
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented.
  • Experience in quality control is considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Education and Experience:
  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in Art & Design, Graphical Design, ICT, IT, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Completion of an artwork design certification program at a technical school or satisfactory completion of a proficiency examination.
