Job Title – Global Sourcing & Supply Manager Duration – 8 months (Hybrid schedule - must be onsite on Tues, Wed, and Thurs Should anticipate some OT in this role) Location – Cupertino, CA 95014
Summary: Client is seeking a Global Sourcing & Supply Manager(GSSM) to assist with strategic planning, long term deal structuring and negotiations. This position requires the ability to work with procurement, engineering, finance, legal teams and also third-party suppliers. Position requires strong quantitative and analytical skills, critical thinking, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Role is for procurement of HW Technology. It means purchase/manage servers/rack solutions deployed at Client Data Center globally. The Global Sourcing & Supply Manager will interface frequently with Design, Engineer, Operation, Logistic, Finance and Planning team internally and various suppliers externally. We are responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies as well as driving cost reduction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: The role is dynamic and often has to wear multiple hats: focusing on big picture roadmap one moment and the minute details the next. Here are some highlights of the role:
Develop a nuanced understanding of the commodity landscape in order to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces. Identify changes in buyer and supplier power and use industry dynamics to Client ’s advantage
Perform supplier financial research, spend analysis and ad-hoc financial analysis for strategic procurement deals.
Understand contract T&C redlines and business and commercial implication Conduct contract T&C negotiations with suppliers effectively and timely.
Effectively work with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for sourcing. Understand the trade-offs between cost, volume, and quality in order to strike agreements that meet Client ’s performance criteria and secure long-term supply continuity.
Develop a nuanced understanding of the commodity landscape in order to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces. Identify changes in buyer and supplier power and use industry dynamics to Client ’s advantage.
Collaborate across the Client organization to ensure business objectives are met. Includes the ability to rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders and to actively identify potential supply issues that can affect product strategy.
Optimize supply chain performance through cost and capacity scenario analysis, and benchmarking. Develop an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes and costs and market intelligence and apply this knowledge to influence Client ’s future product roadmap and sourcing decisions.
Provide overall program management support and contribute to ongoing development of processes, templates, escalation procedures, and reporting
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree plus 5+ years of work experience, Masters degree or MBA preferred
A tenacity, passion and demonstrated skill in negotiations
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Superb communication and interpersonal skills
Can build, grow and develop key cross-functional relationships to be able to influence and drive projects
Experience in supplier management and operations and ability to solve complex supply chain issues a plus
End to end ownership of contract negotiations for both commercial and legal aspects a plus
Direct experience in long-term capacity planning a plus
Interest in technology
Ability to make quick decisions and solve complex problems with 80% information
Willingness to travel internationally up to 30%
Can operate independently
