Job Description

Title:                    Financial Analyst
Location:           Remote (EST)
Duration:           6 Months
 
Description:
Under the direction of the Director of Financial Planning and in collaboration with the Senior GME Finance Manager, GME Financial Analyst will provide assistance in management of the financial activities of the Client’s Education Programs. This position must be able to work independently, research, and solve problems that have a significant impact to Client’s financials and its strategic plan. GME Financial Analyst shares responsibility for the operational effectiveness within the GME department to ensure
 
1. Collaborate with Senior GME Finance Manager on current process for billing with Veteran Affairs (VA), including create billing schedules for all Residents and Fellows on VA rotations.
2. Review and reconcile Client’s schedule billing with the VA schedule billing monthly.
3. Thoroughly research and follow up on VA billing variances from budget to actuals, collaborating with program leaders and GME team members to gather relevant information.
4. Assist Senior GME Finance Manager with the GME department budgeting process for Residents and Fellows.
5. Create monthly billing for other affiliate resident rotations as needed.
6. Assist with and begin to oversee the Medicare IRIS billing process
7. Review and complete residency program financial reports, including variance analysis
8. Identify opportunities for operational improvement within GME Finance processes and procedures
9. Work to create documentation and develop appropriate standard work for the resident VA and Medicare, billing, auditing, and reporting processes
 
Top required skills:
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and research irregular data.
Other essential sills:
  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of accounting, finance, general accounting practices and business administration and working knowledge of financial systems, budget and planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to collaborative across various business units.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task.
  • New Innovations experience is a plus; Database experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fields
