Description: Role Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Epic Consultant to support a multi-phase data acquisition initiative for a major healthcare provider, with responsibilities that include developing robust scripts, executing precise Epic data extractions, and supporting partner hospitals with non-standard Epic configurations. This remote role requires a technically strong consultant who can rapidly assess diverse Epic environments, collaborate effectively with client SMEs, and deliver accurate, validated, and reusable scripts that streamline data integration across multiple hospital partners.
Core Responsibilities • Develop, test, and document data acquisition scripts based on client specifications. • Translate timestamps/ metric requirements into Epic compatible logic. • Validate scripts against Epic environments for accuracy and stability. • Review partner hospital Epic setups (including custom workflows, Clarity/ Caboodle build, module variations). • Maintain/ update specifications as new hospitals onboard. • Troubleshoot Epic data issues and advise on workflows/integration patterns.
Must Have Skills • 3–5+ years hands on Epic experience (clinical modules, data models, or reporting). • Proficiency with Epic data extraction (Clarity/ Caboodle/ Chronicles preferred). • Strong SQL and scripting capability. • Experience with Epic build components (SmartSets, SmartForms, BPAs, Orders). • Solid understanding of clinical workflows and EMR data structures. • Ability to interpret data requirements and convert them into technical deliverables.
Nice to Have Skills • Epic certifications (Orders, ClinDoc, Cadence, Prelude, Willow, Beacon, etc.). • Experience working with custom Epic builds or multi site variations. • Background in data integration, ETL patterns, or healthcare analytics. • Familiarity with Bridges, interfaces, or Epic reporting environments.
Engagement Details • Short Term: Script development to support current hospital data acquisition process. • Long Term: Updating specifications and supporting onboarding of hospitals with non standard Epic environments.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree.
