Engineer

Job Title: Engineer – Digital Twin CAD
Location: Georgetown, KY
Duration: 11+ Months
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Travel: Approximately 50% travel to all NAMC locations (US / Canada / Mexico) for meetings, observations, and on-site scanning (1–5 day trips)
PPE Requirement: Steel Toe Boots
 
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain digital CAD data for all shops (Casting / Press / Plastics).
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all CAD data management.
• Create and manage Digital Twin Models for each shop using AutoDesk software (AutoCAD Architecture/Mechanical, Inventor, Navisworks, Factory Design Utilities, Vault).
• Support creation of Digital Twin standards and “How-To” manuals.
• Perform and lead Digital Design Reviews with project stakeholders.
• Develop step-by-step demolition and installation CAD models.
• Conduct area scanning for unscanned or updated shop areas using AutoDesk ReCap and other tools.
• Track and report project status and KPIs
• Lead update meetings for project and shop changes, ensuring effective communication with PE and NAMC Project Management teams.
• Assist project leads in leveraging Digital Twin data for visualizations and special studies.

 
Required Qualifications
Education:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar field, OR equivalent work experience.
• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing factory environment related to installation and floor planning.
• Proven background in developing CAD models for manufacturing shops.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

 
Technical Skills
Advanced Proficiency:

• AutoDesk: AutoCAD Architecture/Mechanical, Inventor, Navisworks, Factory Design Utilities
• Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project

 
Intermediate Proficiency:

• AutoDesk: Vault, AutoDesk Construction Cloud, ReCap

Exposure/Familiarity With:

• AutoDesk: Revit, Tandem, FlexSim, BIM 360
• CATIA
• NVIDIA Omniverse
• Cintoo / Matterhorn (Point Cloud Data)
