Title: Electrical system design Engineer V Location:Westborough, MA Work Type:Onsite Duration: 6 Months
Job Description: Client is Seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer to lead circuit board design verification, system integration and field support of new product releases. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in system design, analog and digital circuit design, possess good communication skills, and have the ability to own a large component of a system. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in team settings. The candidate will need to be able to travel to remote sites in support of initial hardware integration. This position reports directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager.
Key Job Functions Working with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including design, prototyping, validation, testing and certification. Work multiple tasks in parallel. Work with cross-functional teams as required by the project. Writing and developing functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures. Designing and implementing embedded system, analog and digital circuit design and systems debugging. Supporting product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments. Implement Engineering Change Orders. Execute tasks to aggressive schedules.
Basic Qualifications BS / MS Electrical Engineering (or similar field). 0-2 years of experience in electrical design Have a solid grasp of Electrical Engineering fundamentals and able to apply this knowledge independently. Experience in schematic entry, layout tools and design for manufacturability (familiarity with OrCAD Capture and Cadence Allegro tool flow is a plus). Experience designing schematics containing analog and digital electronics. Experience executing design reviews in front of interdisciplinary teams. Familiar with PCB layout design and best practices. Demonstrated strong ability to move seamlessly between levels of abstraction – from system to the “nuts and bolts” implementation Commitment to rigorous testing practices and design process flows Problem solver, “can do”, ”get any task done” attitude Strong organizational and planning skills Customer focused Desire to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways Excellent written (white papers) and oral communication skills Ability to support domestic and international travel as required by the program
Preferred Qualifications Experience with FPGAs, VHDL, microcontrollers, microprocessors and mixed-signal designs. Experience with serial communication interfaces (CAN, SPI, Ethernet, etc.). Experience with Matlab and PSPICE for analog circuit simulation. Experience with Python.Experience applying IEC 60204 and/or IEC 61508 machinery safety standards preferred.
