Job Title: Document Controller Advisor (Drafting) Duration: 12 Months Location: Houston, TX Hybrid or remote: Hybrid from the Houston office, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from the office.
High-Level Description:
Provide technical drawing and drawing control coordination and management services for internal Projects and Projects assigned to Engineering Procurement (EPCs) companies, as well as provide drawing control services for O&M Projects
Provides support for Operations, Project Managers, and EPCs by locating, printing, scanning, and distributing drawings and related technical information for their field locations and projects, utilizing the company Electronic Document Management (EDM) System for all UST O&M, Major and Core Project work
Assist in the development and continuous improvement of Drawing, Drafting, and equipment numbering standards and procedures for the Westcoast Pipeline System
Uses professional communication when working with internal stakeholders and external consultants to provide information
on drawing requests, interpretations, and statuses
Provide Construction and As-building drawing coordination and services utilizing Meridian Document control software for
Projects that are assigned to EPCs
This role provides guidance and training to new employees and contractors as to the drawing and drawing control processes for the business unit, as well as on the Meridian system
Responsible for investigating technical information discrepancy gaps and clarifications across several other business unit system applications
Work with all the Drawing Control Analysts and Drafters (UST, Offshore, & Vector) to ensure the integrity of defined technical drawing and metadata quality within the Meridian system
Other duties as needed that include, but are not limited to: special project assignments
Provide UST organization with direction and support for Drafting, Drawing, and equipment numbering procedures and processes that assure Program and Asset owners have access to make timely, safe, effective, and efficient decisions.
Requires a significant amount of collaborative communication, both written and verbal, to achieve desired outcomes with Drafting and Drawing assignments and products, utilizing the established procedures as guidance
While most decision-making is guided by past practice, incumbents may be expected to modify standard practice and adapt approaches to new tasks
Incumbents are expected to manage their time and priorities
The role is required to provide basic guidance to junior employees. The impact of the role is typically confined to the immediate work area/department and may result in delays in processing business tasks
Required:
Related Technology Diploma or a combination of related certifications and a minimum 5 years of directly related experience
Advanced system knowledge of Autodesk suite of products, MS Office Suite of products, Meridian systems
Intermediate to strong knowledge of related office software and applications, company databases, company structure and standard operating procedures, project Lifecyle processes
Preferred:
Ability to manage time, tasks and resources effectively in a deadline-oriented, customer service environment and be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
Ability to resolve technical and analytical problems with minimal supervision.
Experience in Process Creation and Implementation.
