Title: Delivery Lead/Technical PM Duration: 6+ months Contract Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid, 2 days onsite)
Position Overview We are seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager / Delivery Lead to join our Wealth Technology group. This individual will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives, primarily focused on legacy system migrations, platform upgrades, and Microsoft-based technology projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation, excellent stakeholder management skills, and direct experience delivering projects within Wealth Management at a large financial institution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage full project life cycle delivery across multiple technology workstreams.
Partner closely with development teams, architecture, QA, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
Oversee migration projects involving legacy wealth systems; ensure seamless transition and minimal business disruption.
Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, resource forecasts, budgets, and reporting packages.
Drive technical discussions with engineering teams; ability to understand and challenge technical decisions.
Apply strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and ensure quality standards are met.
Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies with timely mitigation strategies.
Provide hands-on leadership across testing cycles, including UAT coordination and defect triage.
Facilitate governance reviews and ensure compliance with Wealth PMO standards.
Lead cross-functional meetings, status updates, and executive-level communication.
Must-Have Qualifications
7–10+ years experience as a Technical Project Manager / Delivery Lead within financial services.
Direct Wealth Management experience (trades, positions, portfolios, books & records systems, etc.).
Strong technical background—past experience as a Developer or Business Systems Analyst is highly preferred.
Solid understanding of Microsoft technologies, cloud fundamentals, and integration patterns.
Deep knowledge of STLC, QA processes, and testing best practices.
Proven track record managing technology delivery teams and working with engineers, BAs, PMs, and testers.
Experience with large-scale legacy system migration or modernization projects.
Strong financial forecasting, budgeting, and project governance experience.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive reporting.
