Job Description

Job Title: DE Seibi Technician
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Georgetown, KY
 
The primary responsibility of this role is to perform DE studies (develop virtual robot programs, confirm process feasibility) in support of New Model implementation in North America Manufacturing Centers.  This role will also include programming robots at manufacturing or vendor facilities, supporting equipment preparation, other production related studies, development of Weld Schedules, and department efficiency/improvement initiatives.
Reporting to the DE Project Manager, the person in this role will support the Body PE department's objective to provide new model processes to the manufacturing facilities that meet all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Compliance, while continuously improving our processes.
 
What you’ll be doing:
  • Conduct a DE study to produce virtual robot programs and confirm the new model process feasibility.
  • Confirm Digital Factory Condition for accuracy.
  • Create Weld Schedule Instruction Sheets and provide other supplemental documents to customers.
  • Conduct New Model process planning (DE) studies.
  • Support Machine Seibi in new model preparation activities, including programming robots at vendor locations or manufacturing centers.
  • Prepare and confirm new or modified Body Weld equipment at the vendors or manufacturing centers.
  • Develop equipment countermeasures during planning/set-up/trial phases.
  • Up to 30% travel (or dispatch) to U.S., Canada and/or Mexico NAMCs and suppliers, as well as international travel including Japan, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Up to 50% overtime, including weekends and holidays.
  • The position will be located at PEMC, Georgetown KY, or TTC-Saline Mi.
 
Qualifications:
  • Associate technical degree (or higher), or 1 year of equivalent technical work experience.
  • Experience with robotic programming of industrial robots using teach pendants/coding.
  • Experience with virtual robotic programming using any 3d simulation software.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% at times (including international travel).
  • Ability to work up to 50% overtime, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
 
What you may bring (bonus):
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering/Technical.
  • CAROTT SEIBI, MACHINE SEIBI or Body Weld maintenance experience.
  • (Carott3) experience.
  • Visual Components (BisFactory) experience.
  • Body Shop Project / Mass Production Experience.
