Job Description

Job Title: Data Quality Specialist
Location: Charlotte, NC, United States  Hybrid 3 days a week
Permanent/Full Time Role


Basic Job Functions:
Our client is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Data Quality Specialist. The Data Quality Specialist is responsible for maintaining and improving data quality within the organization by developing and implementing data quality standards, procedures, and best practices. They work closely with data stakeholders to identify data quality issues, assess data quality, and implement corrective actions. This role also involves monitoring and reporting on data quality metrics, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and continuously improving data quality processes. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Continuous evaluation of accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity of data across various systems and resources. 
  • Proactively identifying the most appropriate development testing strategies, working with and influencing appropriate groups as required, while being responsive to the opportunities, challenges, and constraints of the business. 
  • Providing advice and recommendations to other team members regarding development and testing approaches. 
  • Identifying and rectifying data anomalies, inconsistencies, and errors through data validation and cleansing processes. 
  • Contributing to data governance initiatives, including defining data ownership, stewardship, and access policies. 
  • Maintaining data documentation and metadata to ensure data quality processes. 
  • Utilizing data quality tools and software to automate and streamline data quality processes. 
  • Collaborating with data consumers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve data quality issues and establish data quality improvement plans. 
  • Assisting with data quality improvements projects, including data migrations and data quality enhancements. 
  • Promoting data quality best practices within the organization and ensuring that data quality processes align with data privacy regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies. 
  • Defining and tracking key performance indicators related to data quality. 
  • Reviewing data rules, test scripts, and logs or solutions produced by integration tools and recommending changes or best practices. 
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Supervisor and Manager Recommendation 
  • Four-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Math, or other related field; OR equivalent related business experience 
  • Proficiency in data quality tools and software 
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, data profiling, and data validation techniques 
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • 1-2 Experience in data management or data integration 
  • Microsoft Transact SQL knowledge 
  • Understanding of relational databases 
  • CDMP, CIMP certification is a plus
