Job Description: Client's Metrics & Analytics is looking for highly experienced Senior Data Modeler. As Client evolves to the next level of dashboards and creates a more cohesive and flexible user experience, we are looking for a data modeler to more quickly move us to our destination. The Senior Data Modeler will help create a foundational data model to underpin interactive PowerBI reports and dashboards that provide insights and help drive key business decisions for internal clients.
Contractor’s Role: Senior Data Modeler. Work independently under the Product Manager to expand the common data model that is designed to ensure that metrics and other data are consistent across all dashboards. Ensure performance, security, and scalability.
Experience Level: Level 3- [senior- 8+ years overall experience]
Qualifications (Must Have’s): Senior Data Modeler will have extensive and exceptional data modelling and SQL skills with strong PowerBI development skills. He or she will have previously created data models to support application development frameworks and can derive data driven application capabilities from code driven application code. Some PowerBI experience with DAX Measure, Bookmarks and Field parameters to create flexible user-defined PowerBI experiences is also needed. SQL skills will also be extensive. The modeler will need to be able to support others and quickly adapt the model to write the SQL to populate the framework as well as determine the best way to apply the framework to various dashboards. He or she will be creative and by able to apply his or her experience on a regular basis. 8-12 Years of overall development experience • 3+ Years of PowerBI Development that demonstrates advanced skills • 10+ Years of SQL experience modelling data and writing complex queries • GIT for version control • Expertise with ETL, data modeling • Expertise with complex SQL queries • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills • Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-center contexts required. • Good knowledge of metadata management, data modeling, and related tools (Erwin or ER Studio or others) required. • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Haves: • Object-Oriented Framework development is a plus • Experience with Azure (ADF, ADLS, Synapse) a plus • Experience with Collibra and/or other Data governance tools a plus
Tasks & Responsibilities The Senior Data Modeler will work independently under the Product Manager to expand the common data model that is designed to ensure that metrics and other data are consistent across all dashboards with proper performance, security, and scalability. • Work closely with the Product Manager to develop and expand the core data model and its capabilities. • Participate in knowledge transfer sessions to quickly learn and apply our data schemas and metrics. • Create, develop and improve conceptual and logical data models. • Implement relational data models and maintain data dictionary. • Collaborate with data architects and data engineers to ensure alignment of model. • Collaborate with BAs and PowerBI developers who will implement the model. • Follow guidelines and best practices and help define design standards for enterprise data model development. • Work proactively and independently to address requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce delivery risks.
