Position: Data Engineer V Location: Seattle, WA Duration: 12 Months
Client is seeking an exceptional Data Engineer to join the Builder Works team, part of the eCommerce Foundation organization, which serves client’s customers by leading architectural innovation and delivering technology solutions for client’s consumer, digital, and other businesses. The person in this position will play a key role in developing analytical solutions that provide information and insights needed to drive roadmap and investment decisions across the org.
In this role, you will build data engineering solutions end-to-end. You will utilize emerging technologies to develop new data infrastructure that is scalable and efficient. You will collaborate with various teams to identify data sources and develop data pipelines that will be leveraged by the BI and Data Science teams for report development and ML modeling.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing medium to large-scale data modeling projects. They will enthusiastically seek to employ the new technology where it makes sense, interact with large and disparate data sources, and engage with a variety of tech and business leaders.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
Hands-on experience and advanced knowledge of SQL
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s in computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or other quantitative fields
Experience with Apache Airflow to design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines
Proven success in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe data modeling decisions and data engineering strategy
5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, BI Engineer, or Systems Analyst in a company with large, complex data sources.
Experience working with AWS big data technologies (EMR, Redshift, S3, Glue, Kinesis and Lambda)
Experience coding for automation (e.g., Python, R)
Experience and proficiency in using Excel
