Title: Universal Credit Card Sales Ambassador Location: On-site in Hollywood, CA (Universal Parks and CityWalk locations) Type: Direct-Hire and Part-Time (20 hrs/week) Hours: We are hiring part-time employees who will work 20 hours per week, guaranteed, with the opportunity for more hours potentially. We need candidates to be available for 5-hours shifts on 4 days throughout the week. It will be a mix of morning and afternoon/evening shifts each week.
Summary The Credit Card Ambassador role involves promoting and selling Universal-branded credit cards to guests at physical stations in Hollywood, CA. Ambassadors approach guests and provide information about the two card versions—one with an annual fee and one without. Sales experience is emphasized, especially in credit card or vacation club sales, with no customer service or ride operations responsibilities. Employees engage actively with park guests, promoting credit card perks like instant giveaways, discounts on food, and printed cards on-site. Bilingual candidates are preferred.
About the Team and Scope of Position: Our sales environment is transactional. We are only promoting the Universal Visa card in this role (not like a bank environment where we would work with customers on a variety of needs from checking/savings accounts, mortgages, auto loans, etc.). This is a PRO-ACTIVE sales role, meaning candidates have to be comfortable approaching guests to share details about the credit card program. We have one manager who oversees operations and leads the sales strategy, who is onsite daily, working alongside the ambassadors. We also have Leads who are present to mentor ambassadors. We have had several ambassadors start with us and move into Lead roles since we launched this program. Our recent Lead searches have been open ONLY to internal applicants. We hope that Leads eventually grow into Managers when these positions become available. Monthly commission opportunity available in addition to hourly rate paid for hours worked.
Responsibilities:
Acquiring new credit card customers by engaging park guests and educating them on the features and benefits of the credit card program, and taking card applications
Excellent interpersonal communication skills Comfortable in achieving sales target
Organized, punctual, and a positive work attitude
Highly energetic, motivated, and an excellent communicator
Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
1-3 years sales and/or customer service experience, especially promoting credit cards within retail or banking
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and navigate changing schedules as required based on business needs
Ability to operate related job activities via tablet and credit card issuance machines
Manage applicable inventory with high accuracy
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs on occasion
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Must have reliable transportation to get to/from work
Must be able to walk back and forth to acquisition locations to assist guests and employees
Education: Candidates need a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, and must be able to stand outside for long periods.
Benefits: The job is through a third-party contractor, offering benefits like health, dental, vision, and retirement plans, along with holiday pay. Benefits would start the month following the hire date.
