Job Description

Job Title: Copy Editor: II (Intermediate) / Technical Copy Editor
Location: Remote (EST preferred)
Duration: 12 Months


Job Description:-
In this role, you will support multiple fast-moving editorial projects for the client's developers. You will work with a small team of editors and be assigned articles, cheat sheets, e-books, and learning paths to be copyedited and polished for publication. We are looking for candidates who are go-getters, have a great attitude, and are capable of growing.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as technical copy editor on a small editorial team for developers.
  • Copyedit highly technical articles, cheat sheets, learning path, and other site pages.
  • Work with contributors/authors in a time-sensitive, respectful way.
Key Skills:
  • 4-7 years experience editing highly technical content, including experience creating, developing, editing content for developers.
  • Familiarity with open source, products and technologies, major programming languages (Java, Python, Go, Rust, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively restructure and edit content for clarity, flow, and readability.
  • Understanding of on-page search engine optimization (SEO) best practices; ability to refine content from an SEO perspective
  • Problem solving, troubleshooting, attention to detail, digital mindset, ability to organize data, efficient time and calendar management.
  • Learning mindset, desire to master new technologies and tools.
  • Some familiarity with JIRA and Drupal helpful.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (journalism, marketing, communications, engineering).
