Job Description

Job Title: Control Systems Specialist
Duration: 09 Months
Location: Westborough, MA (Hybrid) 
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Test Technician to join our Robotics team. Facility focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing test equipment for cutting-edge robotics workcell sub-assemblies. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote a safety-first culture and lead by example within our fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Execute routine and specialized tests to ensure product quality and performance standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in electro-mechanical sub-assemblies, utilizing end-of-line test equipment.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools (vendor software, multi-meters, oscilloscopes) for troubleshooting controls components.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot manufacturing test systems (automated test solutions developed by internal manufacturing test engineering team)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in PLC systems (e.g. Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens), including troubleshooting ladder logic.
  • Maintain accurate test records and collaborate with engineers on solutions and test coverage improvements.
  • Participate in the calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a test technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and vendors.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices around moving and electrical equipment
  • Industrial controls/ PLC systems
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with robotics or automation systems is a strong plus.
  • Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in test equipment installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Formal trade qualification or current electrical contractor license
  • Experience in Siemens or Allen Bradley PLC control level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and Control View HMI.
  • Robotic programming experience (Fanuc, ABB, Kuka, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Experience with data collection tools and Quality Control systems.
 
Degree or Certification:
  • Bachelor’s (preferred, but not required)
