Job Description

Job Title: Contracts and VM Analyst
Duration: 11 months
Location: 100% remote
Shift: 8-5 PM EST, M-F (Some flexibility)
 
Position Summary:
The Contract and Vendor Management Analyst is responsible for creating and reviewing contract terms and conditions with Contract Negotiators and customers, typically less than $200,000 in the Company's spend on goods and services. Ensures that all negotiated deals are properly managed through contract execution. Collaborates with others to drive vendor performance and determine what capabilities and product offerings meet the needs of the business.
This Contracts and VM analyst will fall somewhere between Procurement Mgmt. and Contracts.
 
Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Working with the RFP Team and IT Project Management Team
  • Responsible for multiple projects
  • Building vendor relationships
  • This candidate will go between the business and vendors
  • Scheduling demos of software products
  • Gathering Meetings
  • Building the RFP Scorecard
  • Vendor Interaction
  • Help guide the team to build the technology required
  • Plain Summary: The proposal will be in the system, test the product, proof of content, who has the best, who is the least expensive and assist in negotiating the contract.
 
Examples of RFPs:
Compensation tools; technology for hardware; expense tool management; HR system; commercial items; etc.

What will separate an average candidate vs a great candidate on a resume?
  • Experience in Project Management
  • High level RFP experience; Vendor Management Experience and Contract Negotiation Experience
 
Degrees or certifications required/Years of overall experience required:
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of four years related work experience; HOWEVER, if a candidate has 2 years of HIGH-LEVEL experience with RFP of technology, they will consider the candidate
 
How many contracts will this resource be working on at one time?
  • High level Contracts that will take months- 2 or 3, but smaller contracts, approximately 8-10 at a time
 
Who is this worker's main interaction going to be with?
  • Interacting with IT, Security, Risk Business
 
Will the contractor be working independently, or will they be collaborating with team members and/or a manager to complete tasks?
  • Both
 
How will performance be measured:
  • Observation: Success to Customers, Efficiency getting things scheduled and evaluated.
 
Interview Process:
  • 1 round of video interview

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders e.g., vendors, business and platforms Manages and monitors vendor performance per contract agreements.
  • Assists in the development of SLAs and Key Performance Indicators KPIs for inclusion in contract negotiations.
  • Assists with continuous improvement activities in vendor performance against appropriate SLAs and KPIs.
  • Participates in meetings between vendors and Company stakeholders e.g., gathering requirements, identifying solutions, vendor performance.
  • Functions as the point of contact for contract and vendor service issues from business partners and assigned vendors.
 
Education and / or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or related discipline e.g., Business Management and a minimum of two years of experience in business, sourcing and or developing and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of four years related work experience in business, sourcing and or developing and maintaining vendor relationships may be accepted.
 
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to analyze requirements to determine the appropriate vendor to deliver business needs.
  • Ability to manage and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Knowledge of software asset management terms and concepts.
  • Analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data from various sources to determine next steps.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects and or assignment simultaneously.
  • Listening, verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and learn quickly.
  • Ability to research and maintain awareness of emerging technology terms and concepts.
 
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Typical office environment requiring the use of typical office equipment e.g., computers, phones, etc.
  • Computer keyboarding, computer monitor and mouse use including reaching forward, grasping, finger and wrist manipulation, and neck bending and turning near vision is necessary for computer monitor use.
  • If working in an Emerging Workspace, or similar working arrangement, lifting of laptop equipment, files and or personal belongings weighing 10 lbs. or less is required.
  • May require long periods of sitting.
  • May require prolonged repetitive use of the upper extremities.
