Job Description

Contract Administrator
About the Team
The Global Legal Services team supports Workday’s Go-To-Market organization through a wide variety of transactional and legal support activities. This global team is comprised of contract management and legal professionals who support both existing customers and new business opportunities worldwide.
The team manages a high volume of requests while partnering closely with multiple cross-functional stakeholders across the organization.
Business Need
As Workday continues its international expansion and revenue growth, the Global Legal Services team is growing to provide increased support to the business. This role will help manage lower-complexity legal work, including customer base transactions and low-touch land-and-expand opportunities, while supporting the growing needs of the Sales organization.
About the Role
In this role, you will assume a broad range of responsibilities requiring critical thinking, innovation, attention to detail, and sound judgment. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, project management capabilities, and a positive, collaborative attitude.
As Workday continues to grow, you will need to prioritize effectively, work independently, and proactively manage competing demands. Maintaining strict confidentiality is essential, as you will regularly work with sensitive information and projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate, structure, and administer contractual documents that establish business relationships with vendors, customers, and partners.
  • Partner with Sales, Services, and Legal teams to draft and structure contracts.
  • Analyze contracts to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable standards.
  • Manage contract review workflows from request intake through execution and final distribution.
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of contract management processes, systems, and policies.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders during contract reviews, serving as a key point of contact for commonly requested edits, non-standard terms, policies, and related inquiries.
  • Review proposed contract modifications and collaborate with internal business partners and external parties to negotiate terms and secure required approvals.
  • Draft and revise contract language to address evolving business needs.
  • Maintain effective processes between the Legal department and other business functions, helping improve contract administration efficiency.
  • Provide administrative support to in-house legal staff, including research, correspondence, and recordkeeping.
  • Complete additional projects and assignments based on business and departmental priorities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience managing contracts, including drafting and negotiation, within a corporate environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience working within a legal department or law firm is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems such as Apttus.
  • Experience using electronic signature platforms such as Adobe Sign (EchoSign) and DocuSign.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and effectively track projects to completion.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing both short-term and long-term projects.
  • Experience reviewing and redlining contracts.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Professional, flexible, organized, proactive, and dependable.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required; an additional language is considered a plus.
