Job Description

Job Title: Community Manager, Going Out - Contractor
Duration: 6 Months with possibility of extension
Location: San Francisco, CA (This position is primarily based out of our San Francisco office, with travel to our events as needed throughout the Bay Area.)
 
Note: Valid CA Driver’s License and Clean Driving Record
This is a full-time position which requires nights and weekends to regularly oversee, support and improve operational needs.
 
About the Team: Client’s mission is to grow and empower local economies. By building intelligent, last-mile delivery technology for local cities, this client connects people with the local businesses they care about — helping grow businesses and the communities that support those businesses. To further this mission, we’re looking for an experienced event creator who will sit at the intersection of growth, brand and community, to drive awareness of our newest in-store product at client.
 
About the Role
  • You’ll be joining the Going Out team, which is focused on building millions of in person connections between Merchants and Consumers by driving in store sales. We are building from the ground up, and this team has been working on the problem for less than a year, which means you’ll have a big opportunity to shape strategy and build with us.
  • As the San Francisco Community Manager, you will be responsible for bringing Going Out into the community physically, with activations that spark curiosity and conversation.
  • You will be our brand ambassador in the market and will know San Francisco events and the food scene better than anyone else.
  • You are capable of operationally standing up an event, coordinating the logistics, with the end goal of inviting new customers to trial our new product.
  • This role relates to the success of Going Out by acting as a direct connection to our customers.
  • The hospitality, knowledge, and operational excellence provided by this role defines how we are perceived by the public.
  • This role introduces potential partners and future business leads to Going Out as a platform.
  • Through close collaboration with the operations and marketing teams, you will build our in market presence, owning the ideation and execution of Going Out events, helping be the voice of product to drive awareness and more connections in the community!
 The Skills We Need
  • Identify and connect with trending events: Able to find impactful events that resonate with the community and our product, helping connect more new users to Going Out.
  • Create new events: Ability to identify our core value propositions and effectively communicate them to our customers in person through events and activations to drive excitement and action.
  • You will champion hospitality values, fully embodying our event production standards to create unique and creative experiences for our customers.
  • Operationally execute event: Logistically coordinate teams to run smooth events, thinking through our vendor partners, our activation staff and the community. You will tackle and solve challenging guest issues that require resourcefulness, creative thinking and collaboration.
  • Take ownership of the public event: including hospitality, production, execution, client management and all other logistical needs. Ownership of the events: You will be the front line of all our public events including hospitality, production, execution, client management and all other logistical needs. You are excited about the opportunity to own the event end to end, from set up to reporting.
  • On the ground team experience: Foster and maintain a positive work environment with emphasis on motivation and teamwork with excellent customer service on the day of the event. Encourage participation and ownership by all team members, along with a continuous focus on event execution and customer hospitality.
  • Build to a better product: Partner closely with research and marketing to develop a deeper understanding of the consumer audience and surface opportunities to product leadership to inform the roadmap.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in events production
  • 3+ years of management experience in the hospitality industry of San Francisco 1-2 years sales or customer service experience (preferred)
  • Proven track record of driving successful go-to-market launches that drive adoption and bottom line impact Other Vendor/third party management experience preferred
