Job Description

SPECTRAFORCE is looking for an energetic and driven Communications and Public Relations Manager to join our growing team in Minneapolis.

The Communications and Public Relations Manager oversees the team responsible for all global communications and public relations that drive strategic business objectives. This position contributes to the development of impactful content designed around storytelling principles and human-centric inclusive language to personalize the narrative in a way that resonates, is relatable, and captures SPECTRAFORCE’s unique culture and values. 

A Day in the Life:

  • Build, mentor, and manage the performance and output of a global team. 
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic communication plan for company. 
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to publish timely company information, such as newsletters and company directives. 
  • Drive strategy and execution for internal and external communication efforts, employee outreach, reputational management, and copywriting. 
  • Develop deep understanding about SPECTAFORCE’s culture and operations to ensure team effectively and proactively manages internal and external communications.  
  • Ensure communication strategy is consistent and reflects the organization’s strategic vision. 
  • Adjust and modify communication plan as needed. 
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to draft news releases, externally-facing content and social copy; assist with story generation
  • Build and manage relationships with key publications to compliment the global PR strategy
  • Build strong internal client relationships to support strategic public relations initiatives and approaches
  • Set timing of release to coordinate with company events or initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent framing of messages. 
  • Edit and revise content as necessary. 
  • Edit, design, and print internal publications. 
  • Ensure internal employees are engaged in company initiatives. 
  • Conduct appraisals of current communications layout 
  • Establish trust and confidence with key stakeholders.  
  • Execute tasks within a designated timeframe or deadline. 
  • Perform other duties assigned.  

You Proudly Possess:

  • Bachelor's degree  
  • Communications or public relations professional with a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience 
  • Proven success in developing and executing internal communications strategies/plans for a large business, preferably in professional services 
  • Solid organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage expectations across multiple, complex projects/priorities 
  • Strong executive presence and comfort working with and advising senior management 
  • Analytical mindset, with ability to interpret data into meaningful insights and strategies 
  • Detail-oriented with fantastic follow-through skills 
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective storytelling and presentation skills 
  • Ability to work in a flat organization with a cross-functional, virtual team 
  • Flexibility and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while possessing a high level of comfort with ambiguity 
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MailChimp 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, and/or Business 
  • Experience in global corporate settings and/or professional services
  • Knowledge of the latest internal communications measurement platforms
