Job Title: Cloud Engineer
Duration: 6 months with potential Contract to Hire
Location: Remote - Can sit anywhere in the US but wants the workers to work AZ time zone hr
s.
Shift/schedule - Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm PST (preferred)
 
Top 3 Skills:
• 3-5 years developing in Python
• 3-5 year/s experience maintaining Redshift, DMS, S3
• 3-5 year/s of experience writing Infrastructure as Code (IAC)
 
Job Details:
Are you a skilled Cloud Engineer with a knack for data lakes to take your career to the next level? If so, the Cloud Engineer role at client could be the perfect opportunity for you. We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic Cloud Engineer to be part of a lean team responsible for the maintenance and optimization of our AWS Data Lake infrastructure, including AWS Redshift, DMS, Glue, Storage Gateway, Transfer Family, Lambda, and S3.
 
Key Accountabilities and Priorities:
• Manage and maintain AWS Redshift clusters for optimal performance and scalability.
• Implement and monitor AWS DMS for data migration and replication.
• Develop and optimize ETL workflows using AWS Glue.
• Administer Storage Gateway for data transfer between environments.
• Utilize AWS Transfer Family for secure file transfer protocols.
• Design and implement serverless solutions using AWS Lambda.
• Oversee the organization and storage of data within AWS S3 buckets.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
 
Required Education and/or Experience:
• Proven experience working with AWS Redshift, DMS, Glue, Lambda, and S3.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Boto3) for automation tasks.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) for Infrastructure as Code.
• In-depth knowledge of data lake architecture and best practices.
• Experience optimizing and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks in AWS environments.
• Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards in AWS.
• Experience with other AWS services and technologies.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• AWS certifications in relevant areas (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Data Analytics).
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Hospitality Industry experience a plus
