Title: Claims Assistant Location: Overland Park KS USA 66210 Duration: 6 months Hybrid- in office 3 days/WFH 2-this schedule will be discussed at interview 3 in office 2 at home. Job hours- 8-4:30 but flexible
Job Summary:
The Claim Assistant, under close supervision, performs customer service and claims processing functions. This role reports to an Operations Supervisor or Claims Team Leader and has no direct reports.
Job Responsibilities:
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Assign and register new claims, including answering incoming customer service calls.
Receive new losses and verify accuracy of information via coverage.
Register new loss information on the system.
Perform all file updates on the system as directed by claim representatives/team leader.
Register loss payments on the system.
Provide customer service to agents, insureds, clients, and other customers.
Prepare all loss registration forms.
Skills:
Strong customer orientation with 1-2 years of customer service experience.
Professional written and oral communication skills to effectively serve internal and external customers. Candidates must be able to format their own professional email responses.
Organizational skills and ability to perform simple addition and subtraction.
Basic working knowledge of Windows and experience with computer systems; experience in an automated environment is a plus. Client managers will provide training on specific systems.
Keyboarding and data entry skills.
Ability to work well within a team environment and focus on self-development.
Commitment to high standards of behavior and performance.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma.
Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
1-year previous claims processing experience.
