Cell Culture and Biochemical Assays Specialist (Temporary) San Diego, CA 92121 5 months We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our research team on a temporary basis (6 months) as a Cell Culture and Biochemical Assays Specialist. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in cell culture techniques and biochemical assays. Responsibilities: • Perform routine cell culture maintenance, including the preparation of cell culture media, subculturing adherent and suspension cell lines (e.g., Ba/F3), and monitoring cell growth and viability. • Conduct established protocols for monthly and quarterly screening of small compounds in cellular assays (e.g., Cell-titer Glo, Bright Glo). • Execute established protocols for biochemical assays (e.g., HTRF, FP, LUM). • Perform data analysis and interpretation of experimental results, present findings to the research team, and contribute to the preparation of scientific reports and internal publications (e.g. custom database, MS Teams). • Maintain accurate records of experiments, methods, and results in accordance with standard operating procedures and laboratory protocols. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and good laboratory practices, including proper waste disposal and regular equipment maintenance. • Collaborate with other team members to develop and execute experiments aimed at addressing specific research needs. • Demonstrate a strong commitment to scientific excellence, quality, and integrity in all aspects of work. Requirements: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, biochemistry, molecular biology) with extensive research experience in cell culture and biochemical assays. • Proven experience in cell culture techniques including, but not limited to, sterile technique, and cell line maintenance. • Proficiency in executing biochemical assays. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately interpret and present experimental data. • Familiarity with laboratory equipment used for cell culture and biochemical assays, including incubators, biosafety cabinets, liquid dispensers, and plate readers. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, GraphPad Prism. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral, to collaborate with team members and present scientific findings. • Ability to work independently as well as contribute effectively within a team-oriented environment.
