Job Description

Job Title: Category Manager
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 months
 
This role will be part of the cross-functional team in driving Free Cash Flow improvement from the Global Procurement perspective as of the Clients Cash Culture Initiative.
 
Job Details:
Responsible for managing sourcing processes focused on Corporate Services categories that may include Legal, Human Resources, Risk Management, Financial Services and Management Consultants. In addition, will also support the development and implementation of sourcing and category management strategies across all other clients sites. Responsibilities include: leading the industry analysis to identify size of industry, leading players, and specific industry characteristics; conducting client requirement analysis to understand clients' procurement needs; influence suppliers and stimulate innovation, process improvement, and cost management; developing a comprehensive category strategy based on customer and industry analyses and developing contracts with new suppliers or renegotiating existing contracts; lead the contract negotiation process and achieve best value for client by:
1) leading the appropriate sourcing process for new and existing business requirements;
2) defining and executing the contract negotiation strategy; and follow-on contract management; 3) leading the contract implementation and the identification of opportunities for expanded supplier relationships to enhance the business partnerships.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Perform gap analysis on the mega-category level ($8B external spend) beyond top 10 suppliers identified based on spend
- Develop multi-year plan on the mega-category level and strategize our approach to drive the remaining opportunities through value realization
- Segment suppliers and customize communication approach to ensure that the changes in payment terms are effectively understood and received by each supplier group, helping to mitigate potential resistance or misunderstandings. For example, a small group of “consultants” to serve as a “help desk” and triage questions/complaints from Suppliers
- Develop working capital reporting capabilities that provide both management and operational level of visibility to performance

Nice to have: working capital improvement and payment extension experience
Basic Qualification:
Doctorate degree OR Bachelor degree and 4 years of experience OR Associate degree and 10 years of experience OR High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience
